Actress Juhi Chawla''s commercial breaks notwithstanding, an attempt to master music is her abiding passion

Found yourself wondering when Juhi Chawla would re-emerge from her self-imposed exile? And then you saw her on the small screen, bringing in her pep and cheer to a series of adfilms that spoofed popular soaps.
Is Juhi getting back to her first love, modelling? Not as a way of life, she says.

"The adfilms were just so much fun to do though I hadn''t seen the serials," she recalls. "In fact, I hadn''t done adfilms for a long time." But there''s been much else that has kept Juhi busy this year. She''s just finished acting in three films, done those commercials and made a lot of progress in her attempt to learn music! "There haven''t been many days," she says, "when I have found myself saying -- what am I doing? By and large, music and my kids have kept me happily occupied and I do films as and when an interesting one comes my way." In fact, she''s religiously kept going at her lessons in music. "Side by side woh business chalu hai," she says and laughs. "Now at least I know what singing is to quite a degree!"

In the near future, she will be seen in Gurdas Maan''s Punjabi film Des Ho Ya Pardes, Onir''s directorial debut My Brother Nikhil and "a sweet comedy that''s almost complete." While she''s kept track of the movies that Bollywood churns out these days, they don''t make her restless. "In no way do I miss those roles," she says. "I''ve kind of outgrown them and don''t want to go back to them. I think what I am doing now has more soul and substance."
